Review: Tritton AX Pro Headset

Now we all enjoy a game of Battlefield or Call of Duty now and again but have you ever been sneaking up on someone who is camping to find them suddenly turn around and kill you? This is very annoying and it’s all to do with Turtle Beach right? Wrong, now for the narrow minded people that only think Turtle beach is the only headset worth buying I’m here to tell you differently. With the AX PRO Headset from Tritton you too can have an unfair advantage when playing your favourite games. So what will you be getting when you buy the AX PRO from Tritton? Great value for money and a bit of kit that any gamer will be happy to own.

The AX PRO Headset features true 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound which is achieved by adding multiple speakers in the headset, Maximum accuracy, clarity and bass, Front, Center, Rear and Subwoofer controls, Dynamic Range Control and Adjustable time delay for center and rear speakers.

One of the bestselling points for me personally is the fact that the headset is compatible with Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. I’ve always believed that you get what you pay for and I could not be any happier with the options that Tritton offer you when purchasing this headset. If you’re going to be spending money on a headset your will want one that “lasts the test of time” so if you decide to get rid of your Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 you are still able to use your headset with your new platform.

So the first thing that is worth mentioning is this is currently the best sounding headset I have ever used. The sound is certainly crystal clear giving you that unfair advantage and with a removable microphone I very rarely have any complaints from my friends when I’m in a party. The overall look of the headset is stunning and will make you want to show these off to your mates I personally have a photo of these on my phone which I end up showing people when anyone asks me which gaming headset should I get? I answer at the moment is simple, AX PRO from Tritton. The sound and look of this headset is easily a 10/10 but sadly there are a few things that will mark this headset down.

When you receive the headset and attempt to set up the headset and control unit up you may encounter a few problems. The first being the instructions may not be as clear to some people as they will be to others. This is not a major problem as you are able to find videos online and even help on the Tritton website but it could lead to some stressful times when all you want to do is play. Another down point in one sense is the “miles of cables” that you will have to run or hide. Now I said this is a down point but Tritton are going to be releasing some wireless headsets in 2012, we are not to sure how these are going to hold up to the AX PRO but if they have made improvements on this or even better made a wireless AX PRO then they are the company to order all audio gaming gear from.
